title: Do Not Stand At My Grave and Weep
time: 11:47 am

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on rippened grain.
I am the gentle autum rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quite birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am no there. I did not die.

I've got the evening to myself tonight, first one in a long time. Kris is at "gun camp" all week and today they are at the range doing guy things all day. All I know is that the flak vest was packed up today...

Speaking of flak vest, while shopping in the never ending Ikea, Kris came across this valet stand and thought it would be perfect to hang his flak vest and helmet, amongst other miscellaneous items on. I want to know who stole the old Kris, and where did this new one come from? He would have never thought to organize anything like this before. Either that or I am influencing him in a way I didn't know possible. So we are going to have this stand hanging out in the basement full of camo. I can just see it scaring me in the dark...

Also while we were in Ikea, we picked up some other things for the house. Lots of organizational things such as boxes and hanging closet organizers. But we also got a rug for our living room. Big steps here! And he bought himself a piece of art that he liked. This coming from the guy that is afraid to put holes in his wall...
Bizarre shopping trip. Now all we have to do is get rid of the heinous plaid couches, living room table and side table that are current residents of our living room. But I swear that we lost my measuring tape in the store 3 or 4 times.

The house is coming together! Hopefully it will be fully functional and complete by the time he leaves in June.

title: Love is strange
time: 11:54 am

Love, a word that is used in many ways with many definitions.
A word that evokes different feelings from everyone.
My love; my man, my family, my friends, myself, my dog, my life, my world.
So many things to love out there.

Kris and I took a trip down to Banff & Jasper last summer for a dance performance/camping trip. One of our first stops on the way into Banff was Lake Louise and Morraine Lake. The picture above is of Morraine Lake, one of my absolute favourite places to visit. It was his first time visiting it and I would like to think that he fell in love with it too. We spent a good part of our evening just sitting up here where it was calm and very peaceful. Plus there were chipmunks who were loads of fun.

Speaking of the devil himself, Kris and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary. Doesn't feel like it has been that long since we've met, but I guess it has. A lot has happened in the last year and I expect a lot to happen in the coming months as well.
